Air source and ground source installations

Future Generation Energy offers a full and comprehensive consultation right from the start of your new build. We will design, install and facilitate all aspects of your heating and plumbing needs.

During our initial consultation we will lay out and explain all the options we can offer for your new home, customising a heating and plumbing system to suit  your individual needs. During the design process we consider important aspects of your new build, such as aspect, location, elevation and surrounding environment. We will design a system that will suit your particular needs  and your budget, offering the most competitive and cost saving systems available. In an industry that is constantly evolving, Future Generation Energy works to remain innovative, and ensures our systems comply with current building regulations (part L)

We strongly advise installing a Heat Pump - either airsource or a groundsource installation - which eliminates the need for an oil burner, stove or traditional solar panels.

FAQ

Should I opt for underfloor heating or radiators in my new house?

Heat pump technology can drive either underfloor heating or radiators, or a combination of the two. It depends on your preference as to whether you choose the more traditional radiators or underfloor heating. By choosing the latter, you gain more wall space, and enjoy a more even air temperature 24/7.

Can I regulate the air temperature so that it varies in different rooms in the house?

Yes. We supply either a) a temperature control stat, where you can manually set the air temperature differently in each room, changing over the 24 hours of the day or b) a digital room stat, where the room temperature is pre-set at one temperature over the 24 hour period.

My house is south-facing and my living space gets very warm because of the large area of glass windows and doors, how do I address the tendency to overheat in summertime?

Along with heating your house in cooler times, the Ecoforest Geothermal system has an option to cool the warm areas of your house in summertime, through installation of additional pipes and fan-coiled radiators.

How often does my system have to be serviced?

FGE recommends that a visual inspection is carried out every year, cleaning out filters etc. to ensure warranty requirements are met.

Where does the heat pump need to be located in the house and is the system noisy?

No, there is minimal noise from the pump. So it can be fitted anywhere inside the house, or outside in a boiler room.
